MessageI AM A RETIRED CANADIAN VET SERVED IN KOREA 195. ,I WAS IN HIRO, JAPAN PRIOR TO KOREA. SERVED ON THE HOOK, SAMICHON, HILL 159 AND THE LAST BATTLE ON HILL 355. OCT 23 WAS A BAD NIGHT FOR US. A NEAR HIT ON OUR TANK BY A 122 MM SHELL. ALL I WANT TO SAY IS A BIG GREETINGS TO ALL THOSE VETERANS,AND A BIG THANKS TO THIS WEB PAGE AND ALL THOSE WHO WORK HARD FOR US AND THE U.S.A. FOR THE C RATIONS, I AM GLAD THAT IN OUR CREW OF FIVE IN THE SHERMAN M4A2, I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO LIKED THE PORK AND BEANS. STILL DO TO THIS DAY. MY ONLY ADVERSE COMMENT IS THAT THAT PIPE OF A STEN GUN WAS A PIECE OF CRAP COMPARED TO WHAT THE BAD GUYS HAD.

MessageThis is a great website to visit. I was with the 7th Div, 17th Inf Reg, 1st Btn part of 51 and most of 52. We were in the Kumwha Valley. We were beat up pretty good in late 52 so we went to the POW Island to wait for reinforcements. They shipped me out of there and I was back home for Christmas

MessageMy dad served at the Nevada Cities outposts mid 1951 thru late 1952. His name was Frank Pacino, in the first marine division. He was in a mortar company and was a forward observer. Only on his death bed did he share the horrors of those outposts with me. He passed July 2011. I would like to hear from anyone that was there at that time or who knew him. Semper fi

MessageHello I am looking for information on my Uncle Milton Elmer Steiner who served with the CIV DIV Inf service number Ra15280616. He was wounded on 21 OCT 1950 by a missile attack. He was a CPL when WIA but a SGT when discharged. He was returned to duty after the missile attack. He was from Ohio and there are rumors in the family that he received a Bronze and Silver Star and that at one point he was the driver for General Douglas MacArthur. I am unable to find anything about this. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and effort and for your service to your country.

MessageHi Lynnita just my semi annual visit to see if anyone I knew might have signed in I cannot believe its been nearly 63 years since a wet behind the ears 17 year old kid hit those mudflats at Inchon in a landing craft At 80 years old now I can still pretty well recall most of my 13 months there as the old saying goes if the good lords willing I will be back in 6 months to sign in again. Am so grateful to you and your staff for keeping the Korean War from being forgotten
